ARTIST PROFILES - Music barn 2025

Afreine

Afreine dropped into the music scene in a town known for its growing talent - showing promise and providing a breath of fresh air at open mics and local events. Making a name for herself as a budding new singer from a troubled background, Afreine has made a mark as a being a versatile and underestimated singer-songwriter. Afreine has consistently relied on music throughout her life because it hasn’t always been plain sailing. She moved to Northampton as a child to escape domestic violence, and has fought to create a better life for own daughters future.

Afreine became a mother at 20 and fought to prove many people wrong, dealing with post-natal depression, gaining a university degree and all the while writing endless songs in her tiny flat. Now, Afreine writes deeply from the experience of her survival of a childhood of domestic violence, surviving a religious cult, and simply surviving love and heartbreak. She is a voice representing many identities but simply, those who have weathered the storm of life and come out the other side.

Anaïs

Anaïs is the electrifying new flag-bearer for the next generation of drum and bass. Hailing from Bristol, she has quickly made her mark through ice-cold releases on Hospital, Invicta Audio, and Deep In The Jungle, as well as mind-blowing DJ sets that showcase her underground influences, earth-shattering basslines, and infectious jungle-infused beats. Collaborations with Flowdan, Red Fox, and Natty D have further cemented her distinct sound, earning her spots at global festivals and raves including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Rampage, Let It Roll, and more.

No stranger to Hospital Records, Anaïs impressed the scene with her acclaimed ‘Ultrasounds Vol. 3’ EP in 2022 and the killer single ‘Live By The Sword’ alongside Sudley and Champion DI. Now poised for her next chapter with Hospital, she continues to push boundaries and captivate drum and bass fans worldwide. Expect an explosive experience as Anaïs brings her unstoppable energy to the stage at the Music Barn Festival.

Casey Club

Meet Casey Club, a duo from Bristol, UK, revolutionising the  garage and dubstep. With over a decade of combined experience performing at venues across the UK and abroad, they've already solidified their presence in the underground electronic music scene.

Their signature style blends influences from drum and bass to house and bassline, crafting gritty garage and dubstep tracks. Already gaining support from industry leaders like DJ EZ, UKF, My Nu Leng, Taiki Nulight, Bushbaby, and Hamdi, Casey Club are not ones to be missed, captivating audiences with eclectic mixes, raw live energy and a huge unreleased catalogue to draw from.

DOORLY

Doorly is a globally acclaimed electronic artist with a career spanning over two decades. Known for his electrifying DJ sets and chart-topping productions, he has released music on iconic labels like Crosstown Rebels, Dirtybird, and Hot Creations, collaborating with legends such as Green Velvet and Idris Elba. A celebrated remixer for acts like The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim, Doorly also serves as an A&R and event curator for his labels Hard Times and Reptile Dysfunction.

Passionate about mentoring the next generation, Doorly runs global music retreats through Orbit DJ Retreats, offering aspiring talent the chance to learn from industry leaders. In 2024, he launches Lovequest, a new project with Jake Shears and Shadow Child, set to release on Ultra/Sony Records. Always innovating, Doorly remains dedicated to delivering unforgettable, live DJ experiences worldwide.

Eden Lole

Eden Lole is making waves in the independent music scene, fresh from a UK support tour, the Isle of Wight Festival, and BBC Radio 1 backing for her track "Trippin'." With her latest single, "Play Nice," and a debut UK headline tour, she’s captivating audiences with magnetic performances, sharp lyricism, and an unmatched ability to connect deeply with her fans.

One of the hottest new prospects in underground music, efan’s rise through the ranks has taken the UK rave scene by storm, with his tracks spun repeatedly by the likes of Interplanetary Criminal, Disclosure, Skream, MPH, Joy Anonymous, Gemi, Prozak and more.

Experimenting with his unique sounds, he focuses on UK Garage/Bass, Breakbeat and Jungle.

george mensah

George Mensah the founder of LoveJuice, turned his love for clubbing and a decade of DJing into a new passion. Fast forward almost 10 years, and LoveJuice is recognised globally, which has allowed George to DJ in some of the world’s most recognisable venues. 

2017 saw the launch of LoveJuice Records, with Mensah’s collaborative project alongside Sammy Porter, acting as the debut release. With strong Underground Dance foundations, George’s style is influenced by the 90s House era and Garage. “Any track I’m involved in, has to be hooky and has to have a groove”

goddard.

Northamptonshire producer goddard. is redefining drum ‘n’ bass with his blend of lush melodies, infectious hooks, and top-tier songwriting. Known for the chart-topping hit “Messy in Heaven” with Venbee, he’s gained recognition as Best Newcomer at the Drum & Bass awards and toured globally with icons like Sub Focus. 

With support from legends like Andy C and Sigma, plus collaborations with artists like Greentea Peng, goddard. is shaping the future of drum ‘n’ bass while pushing creative boundaries across genres.

Grafix

Grafix is a drum and bass producer and DJ known for blending high-energy dancefloor beats with intricate melodies and melancholic undertones. His innovative sound draws inspiration from techno, indie dance, and rock, earning praise from top artists like Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Dimension, and Andy C. Previously signed to Hospital Records, he released a trio of collaborative albums before launching his solo career with Half Life in 2022. The album received critical acclaim and BBC Radio One support from tastemakers like Danny Howard, Rene LaVice, and Charlie Tee, with its lead single, Somewhere (feat. Reiki Ruawai), featured on the EA SPORTS F1 22 soundtrack.

This year, Grafix continues to make waves with new releases, including Miss A Moment with Elipsa on DnB Allstars and Comedown with Andromedik, which surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify in under two months. His ability to evolve while maintaining a signature sound cements his status as a leading force in modern drum and bass.

Great Adamz

Great Adamz is a rising force in the Afrobeat and Afro-pop scene, celebrated for his vibrant melodies and romantic soundscapes. Hailing from Nigeria, he skyrocketed onto the global stage with the MOBO Unsung Class tour in 2022 and soon after clinched Pop Artist of the Year at the inaugural Northamptonshire Local Music Awards. Proving his staying power, he was crowned Afrobeats & Dancehall Artist of the Year in both 2023 and 2024.

Supported by four #1 singles on iTunes Nigeria and over three million streams for his acclaimed album Blessed Boy, Great Adamz continues to captivate audiences worldwide. A Golden Star Award for Artist of the Year in 2023, a BEFFTA Award nomination in 2024, and three BBC Introducing Artist of the Week titles confirm his status as a true powerhouse. Mercians

The Mercians have quickly risen through the UK music scene, selling out four out of five venues on their second UK tour in under two years. They’ve already played major stages like the O2 Shepherd’s Bush and O2 Institute Birmingham, with no plans of slowing down in 2024. Their fanbase is growing at an explosive rate, having quadrupled their Instagram following in just four months. With eight highly addictive new releases set to drop over eight months, their commercial yet uniquely styled tracks continue to captivate audiences.

Hailing from Leicester, The Mercians infuse their working-class roots into raw, relatable songs that tackle real-life struggles. Their debut single, Dreamseller, exposed an industry conman who stole £8,000 from them, yet they remain undeterred as their loyal fanbase rallies behind them. With an electrifying live show that must be seen to be believed, The Mercians are proving themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting rising bands.

Monka

Blending live percussion with electronic beats, Monka delivers electrifying performances that merge music, visuals, and pyrotechnics into an immersive 3D experience.

Known for his innovative DJ-drum setup, Monka has captivated audiences at major venues like Eden Ibiza and AJ Bell Stadium.

With roots in the UK club scene and a relentless drive to push creative boundaries, his high-energy shows combine technical mastery and unforgettable stage presence, leaving audiences in awe and demanding more.

Nerissa Simmone

Nerissa Simmone is a soulful singer-songwriter from Northampton, whose music is rooted in raw emotion and lived experience. She writes from the heart, sharing stories of her feelings, her journey, and the moments that shape her world.

With a voice that captures both vulnerability and strength, Nerissa pulls listeners in and keeps them hooked. She’s also the lead singer and primary songwriter for the neo-soul band Nerissa and the Vibe, whose highly anticipated EP is set to drop this spring!

noisy

Noisy is what Noisy does: a three-piece hybrid of hooks, beats and escapism. Formed on the south coast of England in Worthing – the very place where one summer Oscar Wilde penned The Importance Of Being Earnest – they take the spin-the-bottle sensibility of the playlist generation and make something new entirely: the sound of hip hop, D&B, and the eternal swagger of the Happy Mondays rolled into one intoxicating whole.

Comprised of singer/rapper Cody, guitarist Connor and producer-guitarist Spencer, the band is the culmination of several years of skate park-induced friendship.

They’ve played in groups together before, sure, but, as Cody puts it: “That was the staging area. Now we’re doing it for real.”

SAMMY PORTER

Sammy Porter is a London-based DJ and producer making waves in the UK house scene. With hit tracks like "What We Started (A Bit Patchy)" amassing nearly 14 million streams and follow-ups such as "Talking Like Friends" featuring Liv Dawson, Sammy has firmly established himself as a key tastemaker. As label boss of LoveJuice, he plays leading dance events, including We Are FSTVL and Ministry of Sound, while maintaining a busy global touring schedule with shows from Ibiza to Dubai.

In addition to his electrifying performances, Sammy is a sought-after remixer for acts like Clean Bandit and James Hype, as well as an accomplished radio DJ with regular slots on Rinse FM. With releases on Speakerbox Records and Sony Music, Sammy continues to dominate both commercial and underground house music spaces, solidifying his reputation as a powerhouse in the industry.
